The 51s send Schwinden to the mound in an effort to take the upper hand in their four-game set against Colorado Springs. The right-hander earned his sixth loss of the season on June 10th against Tacoma by allowing six runs (five earned) in five innings pitched. He also watched the Rainiers tally eight hits and three walks, while striking out two. Schwinden currently owns a 1.64 WHIP thanks to the 86 hits and 23 walks allowed in 66.1 innings pitched. Devin Jones (3-2, 4.72 ERA) vs. Mark Cohoon (3-3, 4.60 ERA)

EAS League Scoreboard

Cohoon was recently relegated to working in the bullpen, but the promotion of Rafael Montero has moved him back into the rotation, for the time being. He’s trying to earn his first win since May 5th, and will be looking to bounce back from one of his worst outings all year. In five innings against Trenton on June 5th, Cohoon allowed a season-high eight runs (six earned) on 10 hits, while walking two and striking out only one. This will be his eighth start of 2013, and he’s compiled a 1-3 record, 4.17 ERA, 35 strikeouts, and 12 walks in 36.2 innings pitched in that role.

Cody Kukuk (3-6, 4.64 ERA) vs. Gabriel Ynoa (7-2, 2.97 ERA)

SAL League Scoreboard

A day after clinching the first half championship, Luis Cessa led the Gnats to their fifth straight win. Now, Savannah turns to Ynoa to end their first half with a sweep of Greenville. Ynoa allowed three runs in seven innings pitched against Asheville on June 11th, but earned the no decision. He gave up eight hits, no walks, and three strikeouts in the effort. The right-hander hasn’t allowed a walk since May 20th, when he allowed two against Charleston. In his last three starts, he’s thrown 24 innings without allowing a free pass, while striking out 13 hitters. He’s making his sixth start at Grayson Stadium, and hopes to stay perfect (4-0, 2.01 ERA).
