Trenton Thunder @ Binghamton Mets, 6:35pm EST

Mikey O’Brien (3-0, 2.48 ERA) vs. Mark Cohoon (3-2, 3.79 ERA)

Cohoon didn’t look sharp on May 29th against Altoona, throwing five innings and allowing four runs on five hits, one walk, and six strikeouts. That followed his longest outing of the season, in which he went eight innings and allowed one run in a hard luck loss against New Britain. The southpaw will be making his seventh start of the season after starting 2013 in the bullpen. It’s been night-and-day results for him; coming out of the ‘pen, Cohoon was 2-0, but compiled a 7.11 ERA and allowed 17 hits in 6.1 innings pitched. Opponents were hitting a ridiculous .531 off him. It’s been much different as a starter (1-2, 3.13 ERA, 29 hits in 32.1 innings pitched, .254 opponent BA), which he’s hoping to continue tonight.

Lakeland Flying Tigers @ St. Lucie Mets, 6:30pm EST

Drew VerHagen (3-3, 3.31 ERA) vs. Rainy Lara (0-0, 1.13 ERA)

Lara’s St. Lucie debut couldn’t have gone any better. Actually, if he factored in the decision and got the win, it would have been a little better. After going 4-2 with a 1.42 ERA with the Savannah Sand Gnats, the righty was promoted to Advanced-A, waiting eight days until he went to the mound for his first start. He opposed Jupiter, and didn’t disappoint. Lara threw eight innings and allowed three runs (one earned), four hits, no walks, and four strikeouts. He really can’t perform much better than that, and if Lara puts up those kind of numbers again, hopefully St. Lucie can support him by  putting some runs on the board.

Lexington Legends @ Savannah Sand Gnats, 7:05pm EST

TBD vs. Robert Gsellman (2-2, 3.52)

Gsellman suffered his second loss in his last three starts against Greenville on May 29th. He lasted six innings, and allowed five runs on 10 hits, one walk, and two strikeouts. The 10 hits allowed were a season-high for him in Savannah, after giving up a season-low three hits against Augusta. Gsellman has started to go deeper into games his last two starts, as he’s thrown seven innings and six innings, respectively. He’ll try to capitalize being at Grayson Stadim, where he’s 2-0 with a 1.46 ERA in 12.1 innings pitched
