Salt Lake Bees @ Las Vegas 51s, 3:05pm EST

A.J. Schugel (1-3, 7.09 ERA)  vs. Zack Wheeler (3-1, 3.91 ERA)

Wheeler makes his second start for Las Vegas since returning from a short stint on the DL with inflammation in the AC Joint of his right shoulder. According to sources, this could be one of his last starts in the minor leagues before getting called up. Zack is having a good year overall, but will try to get his first victory at Cashman Field today, as he’s 0-0 with a 5.73 ERA in 22 innings pitched (four starts).

Brandon Workman (5-1, 3.83 ERA)  vs. Jacob deGrom (1-5, 5.83 ERA)

deGrom is coming off a tough start in New Britain after earning his first win in Double-A. The Stetson University product went 4.2 innings against the Rock Cats, allowing seven runs on nine hits,  four walks, and three strikeouts. The four free passes tied a season-high, and that continues to be part of the problem as he adjusts to life with Binghamton. In 41.2 innings pitched, he’s given up 51 hits and 14 walks, with opposing batters hitting .305 off him.

Gabriel Ynoa (5-2, 3.55 ERA) vs. Pat Light (1-3, 8.28 ERA)

Ynoa turned in what could be considered his most dominant performance of the 2013 season against Charleston. The right-hander went six shutout innings, allowing two hits on two walks, and seven strikeouts. With Rainy Lara recently getting promoted to Advanced-A St. Lucie, Ynoa will try to lead the staff. His last two appearances have been good ones; he’s thrown 13.1 innings and allowed two runs on eight hits, three walks, and 13 strikeouts. His K/BB ratio currently sits at 4.89.
