Syracuse Mets infielder Luis Guillorme was removed from the lineup entering the bottom of the fifth inning. He would be replaced by Dilson Herrera. This move was likely in response to Robinson Cano being removed from the Mets game with quad tightness.

Herrera’s chances of potentially being the guy to be called might have been harmed by the team needing to call up Rajai Davis earlier in the day because Brandon Nimmo headed to the IL with a neck injury.

To make room for Davis on the 40 man roster, Paul Sewald was designated for assignment. As noted by MMN‘s Jacob Resnick, Sewald does not have sufficient service time to refuse an outright assignment should he clear waivers, but he will be able to elect minor league free agency if he’s not recalled again this year.
