Eric Campbell, Johnny Monell and Matt Reynolds each had two hits on the night. Conforto is now 15 for 23 with two homers, six RBI and nine runs since being sent back down to Vegas.

- Amed Rosario SS 2 for 4, RBI, BB, K .324/.376/.466
- Dominic Smith 1B 1 for 4, BB, K .296/.360/.452
I speculated yesterday Rosario was playing hurt, and someone at the game suggested he looked hurt. Looks like he hasn’t fully recovered from his injury yet. Evans has been on fire hitting .513 with eight RBI and ten runs scored over his last ten games.
- Rainy Lara RHP: 5.2 IP, 9 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, W (7-10, 4.85)
- Tim Peterson RHP: IP, 2 K, (3.22)
- Luis Mateo RHP IP, K (3.46 ERA)

- Kevin Kaczmarski LF 0 for 4, 4 K .324/.400/.461
- Luis Guillorme SS 1 for 4, .258/.327/.311
The day after I say Kaczmarski is raking, he strikes out four times.
- Andrew Barbosa LHP 4 IP, 2 H, BB, 3 K
- Tyler Bashlor RHP IP, H, ER, 2 BB, K
Barbosa is rehabbing and will likely join the B-Mets rotation soon. This was Bashlor’s debut in High-A.
Asheville Tourists 10 (Colorado, 61-60), Columbia Fireflies 3 (55-68) Box Score
- Enmanuel Zabala CF 1 for 3, 3B .274/.326/.333
- Patrick Mazeika C 2 for 4 .271/.398/.367
- Dash Winningham 1B 1 for 4, HR (8th), 2 RBI .237/.287/.360
Winningham hasn’t hit well, nor got on base at a solid clip but is second on the team in homers.
- Witt Haggard RHP 2.1 IP, 4 BB, 2 K 2.64 ERA
Great name. The Fireflies gave up two homers to Colorado’s top prospect Brendan Rodgers.
Brooklyn Cyclones 7 (31-27), Staten Island Yankees 5 (33-24) Box Score
- Desmond Lindsay CF 1 for 4, K .333/.463/.556
- Colby Woodmansee SS 1 for 3, BB, K .267/.306/.348
- Jay Jabs 2B 2 for 4, 2 RBI .193/.298/.248
One of our writers, Quinn Barry, assessed Woodmansee yesterday and came away unimpressed, citing a slow bat (evident with strikeouts). He also stated that Lindsay looked good in the field. Lindsay scored the tying run on a wild pitch, and Jabs knocked home the winning run. Jabs committed an error that led to two runs earlier in the game.
- Justin Dunn RHP 3 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 4 K 1.71 ERA
- Raul Jacobson RHP 4 IP, 5 H, 4 K 2.20 ERA
- Adam Atkins RHP: Perfect inning, K (4.85)
- Joseph Zanghi RHP: IP, 2 H, 3 K, S (6th save, 1.54)
Dunn allowed a solo home run in the 2nd to Drew Bridges.

- Jose Miguel Medina RF 3 for 4, 2B, 2 RBI, K .293/.361/.418
- Walter Rasquin 2B 0 for 4, 3 K .289/.358/.369
Rasquin has cooled off considerably since his hot July. Cespedes is young, but has a lot of upside that he hasn’t completely tapped into yet. Wolf has a lot of power from the left side.
- Jordan Humphreys RHP 7 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, BB, 10 K 4.47 ERA
- Blake Taylor LHP 2 IP, 2 H, 4 K 5.40 ERA
Taylor is being eased in after Tommy John Surgery. Humphreys throws in the low to mid-90’s.

- Nicolas Debora RHP 1.2 IP, 5 H, 6 ER, 2 BB, K 6.04 ERA
- Matt Cleveland RHP .2 IP 4 H, 5 ER, BB, K 12.60 ERA
12th rounder Cleveland hasn’t been doing well in rookie ball, but will likely take a starting role next year.

- Michel Otanez RHP 4.2 IP 6 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 7 K 5.51 ERA
19-year old Otanez has a real arm on him, throwing 92-95, and touching 96. ERA or no, he’s likely stateside next year.
DSL Phillies2 2 (39-25), DSL Mets2 0 (18-45) Box Score
- Wilmer Reyes SS 1 for 4, 2B .266
Reyes is second on the current squad of the DSL Mets2 with an OPS of .660
- Miguel Gutierrez RHP 4 IP, 2 H, ER, 3 BB, 2 K 5.63 ERA
Gutierrez pitches in the high-80’s and touches 91.
Is Philip Evans really 5’9″ and 220 lbs!
After seeing him in person this year It would be tough to argue, maybe 5’10 but kid is built.
Maybe Conforto just needs to play everyday (lefty or righty) to be successful? Maybe Terry should take note.
Hey Michael (or Teddy),
Where do you think Gimenez will start next year? Do you think it will be the typical route of rookie ball, or is there any chance he jumps right to Brooklyn or even Columbia out of the gates? Not a believer in rushing kids, but seeing such incredible strike zone control out of a 17 year old (17% walk rate to go with an 8% SO rate) is pretty special and he will be 18 to start next season. What do you think?
I think it will partly depend on how he looks in the instructional league which he is attending. Right now I think he’s slated for Kingsport in my opinion. Not that I don’t think he could handle Brooklyn but more of how the Mets will handle him with caution. I mean they had him in the DSL when he really should be in the GCL.
Kingsport sounds reasonable and I’d assume that his moving to a country with a language barrier would factor into things. But as you note, he could have just as easily been playing in the GCL this year, so I was just thinking they could perhaps decide to get a little aggressive with him in year 2, instead of year 1. Guess time will tell. Also assume his winter league performance may factor into the equation as well. If he continues to thrive against the more seasoned players this winter, that could also factor into the equation.
I hop Conforto tells terry to stick it up his nose
Wow.
