Indianapolis Indians 9 – Syracuse Mets 1 Box Score

The Indians pitching staff combined for a one-hitter, but their wildness issuing seven walks did give Syracuse opportunities to score runs. Syracuse failed to capitalize going 0-f0r-5 with RISP and leaving eight men on base. Their only run came in the eighth when Indians reliever Jake Brentz walked four batters in the inning to force home a run.

Jannis was promoted to Syracuse from Binghamton to make this start. He would get off to a good start pitching two scoreless before the Indians offense jumped all over him with a six run third. Four of those six runs came with two outs.

Binghamton Rumble Ponies 7 – Akron RubberDucks 2 Box Score

A three run second inning gave the Rumble Ponies the margin they needed to win the game. Krizan would continue his hot streak with a four hit game. Over the last week, he is hitting .412/.444/.706. Gimenez would snap an 0-for-10 stretch with a good game at the plate.

Since being assigned to Binghamton, Lee has now allowed just one earned run over 15 innings pitched. He might’ve kept the RubberDucks off the board all together, but he had a third inning throwing error which led to an unearned run. Since being reassinged to Binghamton, Villines has now allowed just one run over 14 innings pitched.

St. Lucie Mets 9 – Charlotte Stone Crabs 8 Box Score

St. Lucie would overcome a six run deficit to come back in exciting fashion, and they would win in exciting fashion. With two outs in the ninth, Lagrange got the game winning rally started with a HBP, and finally Rodriguez would deliver the walk-off single. It was the bottom of the lineup doing the most damage with Rodriguez and Moreno combining for five hits with a double and a homer.

Wilson struggled partially because he was abandoned by his defense. On the first play of the game, Bohanek made an error and later in that inning Dan Rizzie had a passed ball. After a few injury delays, he was lifted for Renteria. Renteria allowed all of the inherited runners to score. However, Renteria would stabilize the game allowing St. Lucie to get back into it.

Greenville Drive 5 – Columbia Fireflies 1 Box Score

The Fireflies big opportunity in this game was squandered. With two on and no outs, Guillermo Granadillo laid down a sacrifice to put runners in scoring position. With an error on the play, the bases were loaded with no outs. Walter Rasquin would strike out, and Brian Sharp hit into a double play to end the threat. From there, the only offense was a Medina solo homer in the fifth.

Tavares pitched well enough to earn the win, but as noted, he did not receive any run support. Hutchinson has now allowed runs in seven of his last nine appearances.

Brooklyn Cyclones 3 – Hudson Valley Renegades 2 Box Score

Mena provided the bulk of the Cyclones offense knocking in the first run with a third inning ground out. He provided the go-ahead run on a seventh inning solo homer. The other run scored by the Cyclones was a well executed double steal with Reyes stealing home.

Metoyer was electric piggybacking Valentino’s start striking out six of the nine batters he faced in the game. He now has an impressive 11.6 strikeouts per nine. Conlon recorded the save in his second appearance for Brooklyn during his rehab stint.

Hudson Valley Renegades 7 – Brooklyn Cyclones 6 Box Score

The Cyclones batted around in the third inning scoring three runs with half of those runs coming on a Ritter bases clearing double. The Cyclones offense went cold after that recording just three singles and hitting into a double play costing them the ability to score what proved to be needed insurance runs.

The Cyclones pitching staff did not pitch well in the game with each pitcher walking multiple batters. Even with the struggles, the Cyclones had a one run lead entering the ninth. Parsons was especially wild walking two batters and throwing a wild pitch leading to Mason Mallard hitting a two run walk-off RBI single.

Princeton Rays 8 – Kingsport Mets 2 Box Score

With his sixth inning RBI groundout, Baty now has recorded an RBI in four out of his last five games. Guerrero is red hot with a seven game hitting streak where he is 12-for-25 with five doubles, a triple, and a homer.

Princeton jumped all over the Kingsport pitching scoring runs each of the first four innings. For Guzman, this is the third straight start where he has allowed multiple runs. This is contrasted against his hot start to the season where he allowed zero runs over 13.2 innings.

GCL Mets – PPD Rain

DSL Rockies 9 – DSL Mets1 7 Box Score

Valdez was one of the two top 25 international free agent signings the Mets made last year. He has now recorded a hit in four of his last five games. Overall, he is hitting .268/.346/.428.

This was the first run Valdez has allowed over his last seven appearances snapping a 16.2 scoreless inning streak. Over that strech, he lowered his season ERA to 2.33.

DSL Cardinals Red 6 – DSL Mets2 5 Box Score

Berbesi had two extra base hits in the game raising his season OPS to .818. One other interesting note with him is he has 22 walks against 19 strikeouts.

This marked just the third time in Villalba’s professional career where he allowed multiple runs in a game. That’s over a stretch of 34 games and 67.2 innings pitched. He has a career 1.46 ERA.
