Las Vegas 51s

The 51s used a 6-1 week against Reno and Sacramento to build up their first place lead to two games over the River Cats. Wally Backman has done a great job keeping his club focused while transactions change the roster on almost a daily basis. The addition of Jordany Valdespin hasn’t hurt, either.

Binghamton Mets

The B-Mets played .500 baseball this week with a 4-4 record. Mother Nature forced them to play two doubleheaders over the weekend, splitting them both with Trenton on Friday and Sunday. They have a day off today, as they head to Altoona to finish out their month of June with a comfortable 11.5 game lead.

St. Lucie Mets

The weather also made it a tough week of games for St. Lucie; they experienced three postponements, leading to two doubleheaders, as well. In the games they did play, they put together a 3-3 record. Lakeland almost no-hit St. Lucie yesterday, and their current two-game losing streak has found them in a first-place tie with the Charlotte Stone Crabs.

Savannah Sand Gnats

A 4-2 week by the first-half champions has found the Sand Gnats even through 32 games following the second half with a16-16 record. They currently sit five games behind the first-place Lexington Legends. They’re heading to Asheville looking to get over .500 against the last-place Tourists.

Brooklyn Cyclones

The ‘Clones started their week with two straight losses to Batavia and Lowell, but are currently on a four-game winning streak. While they were busy winning, they also contributed to the six-game skid the Staten Island Yankees are on, and have exited the basement of the McNamara division. Brooklyn is only three games off the first-place Hudson Valley Renegades.

Kingsport Mets

kport

The K-Mets are the hottest team in the Appy League, winning nine of their last 10 games, including six in a row. That winning streak led Kingsport to sweep both Elizabethton at home and Bristol on the road. They started the season in the basement after a tough start, but are now only two games out of first.

GCL Mets

gcl

The GCL Mets are still far down in the standings, occupying the basement, but had a little improvement with a 3-4 week. It will be a long trek making up 16.5 games to catch the Nationals in first place, but getting close to .500 would be cool.
