Las Vegas 51s

LV

The 51s went 3-5 the past seven days, and despite sweeping Sacramento at the start of the week, the River Cats have won five straight to put themselves in a first place tie with Vegas. The top three teams in the PCL Southern division are separated by only two games. Looks like there will be some exciting baseball to be played down the stretch.

Binghamton Mets

bingo

The B-Mets lost two of three against Altoona, but came right back to sweep Harrisburg on the road over the weekend, finishing the week at 4-2. We should be hearing the fate of Cesar Puello today with regard to the Biogenesis controversy, but at 70-43, Binghamton is still in control of the division at this point.

St. Lucie Mets

stl

St. Lucie finishes their week in a three-way tie for first place with their 23-17 record. They split a four-game set with the Tampa Yankees, and took two of three against Clearwater for a 4-3 week. The FSL South division is a tight one, as the top four teams are only separated by 1.5 games. The Palm Beach Cardinals have catapulted themselves into conversation with a five game winning streak.

Savannah Sand Gnats

sav

The Gnats are starting to catch fire in the thick of the second half. They went 5-2 this week, taking two of three from Asheville, while winning three of four at home against Greenville. Savannah has gone 7-3 in their last 10 games, and are only two games back of the first place Lexington Legends.

Brooklyn Cyclones

bk

The ‘Clones are the hottest team in the NYPL McNamara division, winning seven of their last ten games. They went 4-3 this week, most recently taking three of four from the Jamestown Jammers. Brooklyn now sits at .500 with a 23-23 record, only one game out of first thanks to a recent losing streak by the Hudson Valley Renegades.

Kingsport Mets

kport

The K-Mets were the hottest team in the APP League last week, and even though they’ve cooled off, they’re still just three games back of the first place Greeneville Astros. Despite losing three straight and going 3-4 this week, they’ve won six out of their last games, providing some space between them and the Johnson City Cardinals.

GCL Mets

gcl

The GCL Mets finished the week 2-4, losing their last two against the Nationals. There is still quite a bit of room between the Mets and the rest of the GCL Eastern division, but the Nationals are just running away with everything.
