Mets Minors Weekly Review: Rosario Ties Career High in Homers

It was a good week for the Mets minor league system that included two night’s of organizational sweeps. It also included two winning streaks of six and five games by the Las Vegas 51s and Binghamton Mets respectively. They enter this week with all four teams at .500 or better.

Writer John Sasso examines the improvements St. Lucie outfielder Champ Stuart has made to start the season.

Binghamton won Saturday thanks to an eighth inning three-run homer by Matt Oberste. Mickey Jannis picked up his second win with 6.1 solid innings.

Amed Rosario put in a ton of work this offseason to improve his build and game, writer MetsDaddy highlighted how it’s paying off for him to start the season.

First base prospect Dominic Smith hit his second homer of the season on Friday night, it wasn’t until June 8th last year until he hit his second.

Gavin Cecchini had his best game of the season on Friday night in the Las Vegas 51s 14-6, he went 4 for with three RBI.

Baseball America’s Hot Sheet featured Rosario leading the way at number one with his .750 slugging percentage.

MLB Pipeline released their Top 100 prospects for the upcoming June draft, writer Kevin Lauro covered a few players that could interest the Mets.

Outfielder Brandon Nimmo had a breakout game on Thursday night going 3 for 3 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored.

Also on Thursday night, David Thompson knocked in two runs to take the RBI lead for all of baseball in which he still holds with 27.
