2014 draft MMN

Update 1:30 PM

ESPN‘s Keith Law had Ramos ranked 86th in his Top 100 Draft Prospects.

Here’s some of what Law had to say about the newest Met:

There may not be a better defensive player than Ramos in the entire class, and while the bat is nowhere near as advanced, it’s improved enough to give him a shot to play every day.

He’s a plus runner who has excellent instincts and a quick first step that allows him to make plays to his left and right with more than enough arm strength to make the throws once he gets the ball.

Even if Ramos provides no offensive value, he has a chance to stick because of his defense, with a chance to be a starter if he can hit just enough to justify it.

1:24 PM The Mets selected shortstop Milton Ramos with their third round pick, 84th overall.

Ramos attended American Heritage H.S in Plantation, FL.

The 6’1 Ramos is considered a defensive stud, but has questions concerning his bat and offensive upside.
