March 27 – Update

Adam Rubin of ESPN NY writes that the Mets  continued to release players from minor-league camp Thursday, including left-handed pitcher Shawn Teufel, the son of Mets third base coach Tim Teufel.

Adam Rubin of ESPN NY reported today that the Mets released the following nine players from their minor league camp, Joe Bonfe, Mark Cohoon, Cristian Chivilli, Chris Garcia, Eris Peguero, James Roche, Chris Schwinden, Jhonathan Torres and Ernesto Yanez. 

Schwinden, who has the most name recognition among the group, pitched in seven games, making six starts for the Mets in 2011 and 2012, with a 6.98 ERA.
