The New York Mets have announced they have released LHP P.J. Conlon. On his Instagram page, Conlon said he had personally requested to be released, and the Mets honored his request.

This year, Conlon, 25, had spent most of the year rehabbing from a flexor strain, and he was in the middle of a rehab assignment. In 13 appearances scattered across the Mets organization, he was 1-1 with a save, a 4.91 ERA, 1.500 WHIP, 6.1 BB/9, and a 10.4 K/9 over 14.2 innings pitched.

The 2015 13th round draft pick made three Major League appearances during the 2018 season. In his two starts and one relief appearance, he allowed seven earned over 7.2 innings.

In other Mets minor league news, Ryder Ryan and Tylor Megil have been activated off the temporary inactive list. The Mets also released RHP Yeudy Colon. RHP Jace Beck has been assigned to the GCL Mets, and LHP Alec Kisena has been promoted from Columbia to St. Lucie.
