The Mets have selected Oregon State outfielder Michael Conforto with the 10th overall pick in the 2014 MLB draft.

Conforto, a 6’1 215 pounder, has hit .345 with seven homeruns and 16 doubles for the Beavers in 59 games in 2014.

The Washington native is considered to be one of the top offensive talents in the draft, and was linked to the Cubs as early as fourth overall. He’s got potential plus power, an above-average hit tool and a great approach at the plate. The knock on him is that he’s limited defensively to left field with poor arm strength.
