Baseball America has released their latest installment of the 2019 MLB mock draft. They still have Oregon catcher Adley Rutschman going first overall to the Baltimore Orioles.

They have the Mets taking left-hander Nick Lodolo with the 12th overall pick. In their first mock back in December, BA had the Mets taking left-hander Zack Thompson from the University of Kentucky.

Lodolo, turned 21 last month, is a starter at Texas Christian University in his junior year of school. The former first round pick of the Pirates (41st overall in 2016) is 3-2 with a 1.36 ERA, 0.67 WHIP, 4.09 H/9, and has struck out 46 batters this season compared to only seven walks in 33 innings. He is 6-foot-6 and 185 pounds.

Baseball America had this to say about the talented lefty, “Lodolo has an argument as the top pitcher in the class—college or high school—and he has done a nice job of missing bats with a fastball that hovers around 93 mph and a plus slider. His changeup could be plus as well, but he doesn’t throw it a ton.”

Following the Mets with the No. 13 pick, BA predicts that the Twins will take high-octane prep arm Danny Espino. The high school has hit up to 99 mph this season while mixing in a curveball that has flashed being a plus offering and a slider.
