Charley Thurber, who was signed by the Mets in the 2011 June Amateur draft, announced on his Twitter page Friday night that he will be converting from an outfielder to a pitcher.
Thurber has played the last three seasons with the organization, moving up each year from Brooklyn (A-), to Savannah (A), then to St. Lucie (A+), and combined he batted .237/.309/.334, with eight home runs, and 104 RBI’s in 277 at bats.
Continuing the thankful theme today… It looks like my career may be taking a new path onto the mound… http://t.co/plJgGcE1Hj
