A few thoughts:
- Five of the top 11 are 21 or younger and have legitimate injury concerns or a history. I’m still high on 19-year-old Lindsay, but his hamstrings never seem to agree. Kay could be in for Tommy John surgery as Molina was a year ago, while Becerra and Carpio underwent shoulder surgeries.
- It’s going to be hard to continue justifying Milton Ramos as a top 15 prospect. While no one expected his bat to out-preform his glove, Ramos’ .226/.298/.278 line is pretty scary.
- I’m surprised to see Lugo as low as he is. He may never get a shot in the big league rotation, but he’s shown to be an electric and serviceable arm out of the bullpen in a small sample size. He may get top 20 consideration if he doesn’t loose rookie eligibility before next season.
- Good for Nido. Thanks to a breakout season he’s changed his projection from a AAAA player/potential backup to backup/potential regular. He’s also improved his defense which together puts him ahead of Sanchez.
- Interesting to see the fall of Ynoa from #14 to #20 despite what was a great start to the season in the PCL (has faltered recently). I agree with them however, as his breaking ball just hasn’t developed like I hoped it would.
- One move I would make is swap Sanchez for Reynolds, they have Ali way too low given his ceiling and Reynolds too high with his lack of potential.

Giminez at 18?
I figure he would be higher.
I thought so too but don’t have huge issue being cautious on player most have never seen. That being said, I have him much higher.
On the above list of 30 “top prospects”, who has a higher average than TJ Rivera? Oh wait, no one! As usual, this poor guy gets no love. He literally leads the organization in BA every single season. What a joke!
I know that Ynoa’s breaking ball hasn’t developed, but is even possible to develop a breaking ball in Vegas. Other than that, Ramos is too high, Thompson and Lugo are too low, and everything else is mostly fine. It is concerning how many of the top prospects have major injury issues.
He’s also 27 year old and doesn’t have a position. I agree he gets overlooked but he’s not really much of a MLB prospect at this point in his career.
Didn’t develop his breaking ball his 2nd year in Bingo either.
Agree on Ramos, I think Guillorme is the better glove first SS.
On the injury front, I wonder if Kay’s issues were known at draft time, and if so would be have fallen further. Lindsay with hamstrings…is worrisome…I don’t have any data or research but seems a bit odd to have multiple no pitchers or catchers with shoulder issues…
This is better than BA top 10 list. I also will switch Nimmo and Cecchini’s spot.
Anyone else surprised that Church, Flexen, or Knapp aren’t on this list? Is it the lack of K’s?
Why isn’t Kevin Kazcmarski on this list?
Where is 31-40 ?
This isn´t the MMN list, it´s a report on MLB Pipeline. I´m sure MMN will have their next ten prospects list up soon.
Yes, it should be up today!
24-year old in A-ball without one great tool.
Flexen/Curhc a little bit but not on Knapp.
surprised not to see Church on there
