Binghamton has an untimely day off as they are coming off a sweep of the Portland Sea Dogs and have won four straight overall. They are back at it on Friday at the New Hampshire Fisher Cats with Rainy Lara on the mound.
No DH in the St Lucie game?
Ahh just caught it, assume it’s Becerra
Wishful thinking on my part.
Very interested to see how Ramirez and Brosher do, I’m sure they will only get limited starts.
Rosario lines out to deep center in his first at bat. Stone Crab pitcher is hitting 96 MPH with his fastball.
quick bat.
Oswalt allows two in the first inning, St. Lucie down 2-0.
Jhoan Urena with run scoring ground out in the 2nd inning. St.Lucie down 4-1.
Brosher just misses a homer in first FSL at bat.
Thompson gets his minor league leading 24th RBI in the first inning for Columbia.
Vinny Siena tripled in his first at bat tonight and had now reached base in all 21 games this year
Joe Tuschak gives the Fireflies a 4-1 lead in the 4th with a two-run triple.
St. Lucie getting clobbered, down 8-1 in the 6th.
Good to see Becerra hitting well despite a sore shoulder.
Fireflies lead is down to 4-3, McIlraith has 9 k’s through 6 innings.
Vegas lineup posted, Nimmo back in the leadoff spot and an off night for Herrera.
Becerra with two hits and two walks tonight in St.Lucie 10-3 loss.
Either hit him 2 or 8 stop bouncing him around.
Bernadina could bat leadoff
Put him 2nd and forget about him, I would go Herrera, Nimmo, Cecchini, Reynolds then who cares.
Agree give the 4 kids who need the AB and may have a role in the future a place then fill in the rest.
May include Taijeron in that and make it 5
Ya I forgot about him, he should bat 5th. Get the kids a;; the abs you can. One of my beefs with Wally.
Homer for Thompson, now has 25 RBI. More than anyone in affiliated ball, passes Cano and Harper for the lead.
Columbia winning 5-3 in the 8th.
The guy is simply too good for low A ball….we will see how teams do the second go around with him. However, if he keeps this up, he will have to be moved to PSL by June 1.
2-0 Vegas, Gilmartin 0 hits through 2, Nimmo leading off with a single to center driven in by Taijeron
Nimmo 2 -2
4-0 Vegas, as the Rainiers defense is falling apart
5-0 as TJ Rivera scores on a Mark Krauss single
8-0 Nimmo 3 run double, 3-3….
8-0 middle of 4th
Vegas up 8-1 in the 5th. Story of the night is:
Nimmo on the good side. Wouldn’t it just be awesome if he makes us all eat crow?
Gilmartin’s 4 BB on the bad side. The 5 Ks are nice with 2 hits and only one run, but his control is usually much better.
8-1 Final
Backman must have got orders to move Nimmo to the one hole and he did well.
