St. Lucie got postponed unfortunately, that is the funnest team to follow.
Kyle Johnson singles to start the game for Bingo, got thrown out trying to steal though. Dom Smith will led off the 2nd.
Smith started tonight in the top 20 for SLG in Eastern League, not bad for a 20-year old.
Bingo game scoreless headed to the bottom of the 2nd. Smith flew out in his first at bat.
Kyle Johnson came in the Cowgill trade right?
David Thompson with a three-run bomb…now has 30 RBI.
Yes, lost most of last year to an injury.
He really needs to be moved up to PSL.
After slow starts, Nimmo, Smith, and Cecchini have heated up the last week to 10 days.
I hope they can keep it going.
Stud.
Conlon gives up two runs in the first, Fireflies lead down to 3-2.
Smith leads off the 6th with a walk, been on twice tonight.
Yet Cecchini is back in the 7 hole tonight.
To bad Urena wasn’t pushing his way up to.
Scores on a hit by Victor Cruzado to tie the game at 3 in the 6th inning.
Thompson and Winningham each have two hits tonight.
Wally being Wally!
Maybe he should skip to Binghamton
B-Mets now up 5-3 in the 7th. Maikis De La Cruz with a run scoring single.
6-3
Can Thompson play the hot corner in the majors … Or is arm strength going to be an issue? We’ve some nice position players coming up.
I think that is tough to tell, he looked good when I saw him earlier this year. Big test for me will be how it holds up over long season. If the arm isn’t an issue than the rest of his skills are fine at 3B and he will stick there.
b-mets in a rain delay in the 7th up 6-3 over Portland.
Dilson Herrera grounds out in his first at bat tonight. What a bum.
I think he could age/experience wise but also would strikeout a ton.
RBI single by Ivan Wilson gives Fireflies a 4-2 lead in the 6th.
51s are facing the rehabbing Brandon Morrow.
Conlon hasn’t allowed a run since the first inning, Fireflies still up 4-2 in the 7th.
Two former Mets released, Cory Mazzoni by the Padres and Scott Rice by the D’Backs.
Cecchini singles in his first at bat, now hitting .308. Dude is raking right now.
Vegas takes 1-0 lead on single by Ty Kelly, bases still loaded in the 2nd inning.
Two-run single by Rafael Montero11111
Nimmo follows with a RBI single and Vegas up 4-0.
TJ Rivera RBI single gives them a 5-0 lead. He extends his hitting streak to 10 games.
I think he’s wasting his time in A ball. He’s a college kid he could probably handle the jump more than most. There is nowhere for him to play in A+ unless they play him at 1b.
Nice to see Nimmo getting it going. Has his average up to 280. Cechini is killing the ball as well. I hope these guys keep developing. On the other side, I would be shocked if montero is not cut from the 40 man by the off season
I really like Champ Stuart , I feel as though he’s under the radar good .
He has certainly cut down on his strikeouts this year which is nice to see. That being said he is doing that repeating the FSL, so it should be better. He has 80 grade speed and is a good defender but he still needs to be more selective at the plate or he won’t make it past AA.
Ya I think Montero is getting close to the end of the road. Mets still have plenty of other options in AAA/AA if they need a pitcher.
They do, he has been passed up by Verret, Gilmartin and probably Gnoa
