Here’s your friendly check-in on some rehab work that our players are doing…
- Jon Niese made a rehab start for the St. Lucie Mets yesterday and tossed four scoreless inning, while allowing just two hits and a walk. Of course, it was against High-A competition, but those are obviously encouraging numbers as Niese works his way back to our rotation. Say what you want about the man, but he’s still a legit #3 in my eyes.
- Lucas Duda also had a nice day rehabbing with the St. Lucie Mets, going 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored.
- What was that, Cory Vaughn ALSO rehabbed with the St. Lucie Mets? Yes, he did. 0-for-2 with two walks and two stolen bases.
- Travis d’Arnaud caught the entire game for Binghamton last night while going 1-for-5 at the plate with a walk. Something small to note — d’Arnaud has made an error in both of his starts with the B-Mets so far in his rehab stint…
Oh, by the way, a few transactions I missed earlier in the week:
- Joe Bonfe was placed on the 7-Day DL in Binghamton with a right shin contusion.
- Chad Zurcher and Stefan Sabol were placed on the 7-Day DL, with Sabol’s injury being a strained right shoulder. Brian Harrison was demoted from St. Lucie to take one spot, while Greg Pron was activated to fill the other.
