I apologize that it is a day late due to life and work getting in the way. When I look over the stats and performances for the week, I give greater credence to a player at a higher level, though I don’t carry it over to major league players playing in AAA. These players of the week are for 6/20-6/26.

Offensive Player of the Week: Tomas Nido (St. Lucie Mets)

The St. Lucie All Star had walk-off walk in extra innings and hit two home runs. He also had a slash line of .333/.417/.619 with four RBI

Honorable Mention: Colby Woodmansee (BRK)

Nothing like starting your pro career with a .478 average (11 for 23). Which is exactly what Woodmansee has done, to go with three runs.

Starting Pitcher of the Week: Thomas Szapucki (Kingsport Mets)

Szapucki started his season with a very Thor like dominant start. In six innings of work he struck out 13, allowing two hits and walked none.

Honorable Mention: Gabriel Ynoa (51s)

Ynoa was in top form against the Reno Aces. He struck out a season high eight while allowing two hits and permitting two walls in 6.2 innings. He is currently leading the PCL in victories and ninth in ERA.

Relief Pitcher of the Week: Raul Jacobson (Brooklyn Cyclones)

Jacobson had seven shutout innings, striking out seven while giving up on five hit and a walk on the week.

Honorable Mention: Kevin McGowan (B-Mets)

McGowan allowed one hit in three innings of work and earned his first AA win

Defensive Player of the Week: Luis Guillorme (St. Lucie Mets)

Guillorme transitioned mid-week to his natural SS position with the smoothness of a Guillorme double play.

Honorable Mention: Stefan Sabol (B’Mets)

Double play that ends a scoring threat at the plate is always worth mentioning.
