Badamo has allowed more than three earned runs just once in his nine starts. He went six or more innings for the sixth time in nine starts. Bashlor had another scoreless outing, he’s allowed just two earned runs in his last 17.2 innings pitched.
Good to see Goeddel have a good outing; in trying to not regain hope in Nimmo. He seems to hit better without it.
How Jayce Boyd has fallen off the radar
C’mon Dash! Keep it going and keep winning …. Ham
I believe this was only the 2nd game of the season for Boyd. He has been out with an Injury.
How does Mazeika look behind the plate? Will he stick at C or eventually be moved to another Position?
I think he plays 1st base and DH’s a lot. Very good question.
I would say overall he is average defensively behind the dish, has also played some at 1B (last year) but has focused on just catching this year.
I think Goeddel is the guy that probably gets the call if Robles goes on DL, has been better lately. I really wish they would stick Boyd back at first (obviously in Vegas with Smith in Bingo). He is absolutely not an OF.
He has only played behind the plate and DH this year. Teams, the Mets especially, are generally slow to move players off premium positions.
In Mazeika’s case, he is a bit oversized for behind the plate. Which lends itself to areas of the defensive game that can be problematic. Pop time, exchange, and balls that require agility specifically. The question becomes will be hit for enough power to compensate for such defensive shortcomings.
Didn’t he have shoulder surgery at one point?
Boyd?
Yep…found the answer as well. Courtesy of Worthy
