Altoona 9, Binghamton (28-42) 6 Box Score
Amed Rosario didn’t make it to the game in time to start but he hit a pinch hit double in the ninth inning and would come around to score. He was promoted from St. Lucie earlier in the day and should provide an offensive boost for a team that has really struggled to score runs.

- Andres Gimenez SS: 2 for 3, BB, RBI, 2 R, .393/.493/.623
The 17-year shortstop has reached base safely in 15 of his first 16 professional games.
Sure looks like placido torres started where he left off in college…….
I know Dom Smith has struggled this year, but a .267 slugging percentage would be really scary. His actual .367 slugging is scary enough as is. Good to see Rosario finally in AA. I felt he really should have started the year there or have been promoted in early May. Great first start by Szapucki. Hoping he can establish himself as a really good pitching prospect. And I’m happy to Darrin Gorski back. For some reason, I always really liked him
lol, thanks for passing that along. The lack of power recently stinks to see from Smith but they are also starting to pitch around him, no protection in that awful lineup.
I think he is this years Conlon, lefty no one heard of but has polished stuff.
What kind of upside do you see for Church?
I know he was a second round pick but if I recall correctly, he was a slot pick who the Mets thought they could save a few dollars on.
He did sign for underslot, about 250k. Which the Mets used to sign Luis Guillorme and Tyler Bashlor.

I’ll leave the projection to those who have seen Church, but I can offer a little background cause the way I am reading your comment, I think it may be underselling his potential when he was selected. The Mets did indeed save some $ with Church, signing him for about $850K, which was about $280K under slot. They took him in the 2nd round with the 48th pick overall, about 30 picks higher than he was probably projected. But he definitely was a high upside HS arm (big arm) who missed a few years in HS, which may have kept his value down. He was a high ceiling guy, who was very raw and needing a bit of work. His first few years were less than stellar, which is why his prospect status dropped quite a bit.
He has definitely turned things around this year based upon his results which have caught many of our eyes. Like you, I’m very interested to hear any first hand accounts on him. He could be a nice hidden gem
If I remember correctly, Church changed high schools and some other factors that limited his playing experience.
