I mean maybe its just me but for awhile I’ve wanted conforto back as the starting LFer, keep Nimmo and DFA de aza.
Of course de aza keeps getting that once a month hit and terry of course would prefer that once a month over nimmo because he’s a ‘veteran’.
I still don’t care to hear about ‘development’ with Nimmo on bench. Injury plagued or not hes had plenty of years in minors and 2 in vegas already. Anything else he needs to learn should be taught by major league coaching IMO.
That is where we will disagree with Lagares healthy there is little reason for Nimmo to be the 5th OF (assuming Conforto comes back). He is still young and hasn’t gotten enough at bats the last couple of years, he is better served playing everyday in AAA.
I hear ya but if Nimmo isn’t traded this year (anyway) and Yo is still on team next year that means what for Nimmo? A third year at AAA level to ‘stay sharp”?
That is something you worry about next year, not right now. I just don’t see the point in Nimmo rotting on the bench until September when he would be up anyway. I think a month or so of everyday minor league at bats would be better for him than playing twice a week (maybe). Also could use more reps in the outfield corners and that won’t happen as a 5th OF.
Agree. That is a deferred decision that typically takes care of itself. Regular PA for Nimmo and Conforto are what is best for the team long term. Either one or the other in Vegas, Conforto offering more of what the team lacks with Wright and Duda down.
Playoffs are a different scenario where best 25 are available.
Of note is Plawecki playing first
Yes and his first of the year there. Could give TC some more options in September.
Exact;y. He may be looking for a light hitting first baseman sat some point
Does anyone know how Conforto did playing right field?
