Triple-A

Omaha (Kansas City, 42-53), Las Vegas 51s 6 (49-46) Box Score

Nimmo has not skipped a beat since returning to Triple-A, going 3 for 9. Hey Mets front office, sooner or later you gotta try out Rivera, it really can’t hurt. Cecchini can still do some damage, even from the 8-hole.

Smoker has been a lot better in his last ten outings, allowing four runs in 13.1 innings. Beck Wheeler, not known for long relief, was left in to get hammered by the Storm Chasers as they tagged him for nine earned runs in 1.2 innings, and throwing 52 pitches before being taken out.

Double-A

Binghamton Mets 3 (43-51), Bowie (Baltimore, 40-54) Box Score

Matt Oberste drove home the game-winning run in the bottom of the 11th on a fielder’s choice. Rosario’s 0 for 5 breaks Rosario’s 10-game hitting streak. Smith has had six straight multiple hit games.

McGowan has been stellar since moving to relief this year and boasts a 1.32 ERA in 28 games this year between High-A and Double-A.

High-A

Tampa Yankees 4 (54-41), St. Lucie Mets 3 (50-42) Box Score

After hitting .268/.347/.418 in Low-A, Kaczmarski is burning hot through his seven games with St. Lucie. Thompson rebounded after being hitless in his first two games.

Huchingson has moved from Gulf Coast League to St. Lucie for Rehab. If you want to know what happened to him, please look up his manager in AAA.

Short-Season A

Hudson 3 (Tampa Bay, 14-18), Brooklyn Cyclones 2 (14-18) Box Score

Tiberi is 5 for his last 12 with a double.

Llanes has been solid so far as a 20-year old in the New York-Penn League.

Rookie League

Elizabethton Twins 9 (10-15), Kingsport Mets 8 (11-14) Box Score

Rasquin continues to hit, can the diminutive dominator get some love by some scouts? Raphael Ramirez stole two bases.

  • Jake Simon LHP 5 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 5 K, WP 3.28 ERA

Simon is the forgotten projectable lefty after Szapucki and Wotell. Placido Torres blew the lead in the ninth inning and allowed a walk-off.

Complex Level Rookie

GCL Nationals 7 (13-8), GCL Mets 6 (11-10) Box Score

Lindsay started back-to-back games for the first time this year after re-injuring his hamstring and having a concussion after being hit in the face by a ball twice in extended spring training. Ranfy Adon came for him after four plate appearances, and proceeded to walk and steal a base.

De Los Santos cruised until the fifth and then was lifted after an out in the sixth. Barbosa continued his rehab. 2016 14th rounder Christian James allowed a walk-off for his first earned run of his pro career.

DSL Mets1 7 (20-17),  DSL Pirates1 1 (14-24) Box Score

If you’re confused by all these players transferring to the DSL1 Mets, let me explain: they loaded up the DSL1 team for the pennant race. Valdez hit his first career home run. Gimenez is 1 for 11 since switching to the DSL1.

Santana had his first start of the year, and didn’t disappoint. The DSL Mets1 struck out 15 Pirates.

DSL Astros Orange 6 (19-19), DSL Mets2 1 (14-24) Box Score

Pujols and Rafael Valdez are the only good hitters still with DSL Mets2.
