By far the best AAA start of Gsellman’s career, he retired the first 12 batters he faced but hung two curveballs that were hit out of the park. Smoker hit 96 MPH on a gun that the announcers said his generally slow. He has now struck out 63 batters in 43 innings.

The Cyclones won as Harol Gonzalez (2-1, 2.14) continued his season long domination. As he allowed only five singles and one walk while striking out nine in 7.2 shutout innings enroute to earning the victory. Gonzalez currently leads the NYPL with 52 strikeouts and innings pitched with 42.

Kingsport was never in the game as the Twins got to Adonis Uceta early and often for seven runs, (six earned) in four innings of work.

The loss drops the Mets to seven games behind the first place Rangers.

DSL Rangers2 3, DSL Mets2 0 (14-26) Box Score
