Rivera was pulled from the game in the 7th inning but it’s been said that it’s not related to Jose Reyes most likely going on the disabled list.

AA – Eastern League

Portland Sea Dogs 11, Binghamton Mets (48-56) 3 Box Score

Binghamton has lost four of their last five games. Champ Stuart struck out four times from the leadoff spot. Smith had been two for his last 21 before the two hits last night.

Herron ran into another rough outing in his return to affiliated ball. He finished two hits and runs allowed shy of B-Mets records.

A Advanced – Florida State League

St. Lucie tagged Lakeland starter Jeff Thompson for seven runs before he exited without recording an out in the first inning. Nido continues to hit, as the FSL All-Star is riding a five-game hitting streak while hitting .391 over that span.

Another strong start for Delgado, who pitched into the eighth inning for the first time in nearly two months. Tapia turned in a scoreless outing for the first time since July 14.

A – South Atlantic League

Asheville Tourists 5, Columbia Fireflies (47-56) 2, F/10 Box Score

  • J.C. Rodriguez 3B/2B: 3-4, 2B (13), CS, .243/.306/.357
  • Patrick Mazeika C: 1-3, R, HR (3), 2 RBI (22), E (3), .262/.365/.369

Columbia entered the bottom of the ninth down 2-1, but Mazeika sent a ball over the right field fence to lead off the inning and send the game to extras for the second straight night. The Fireflies left 12 men on base.

Asheville scored the go-ahead runs on a three-run home run from Brendan Rodgers, Colorado’s 2015 first-round pick. Church has not allowed more than two runs in a start since June 28.

Short Season A – New York Penn League

Brooklyn Cyclones (21-19) 8, Vermont Lake Monsters 5 Box Score

Jacob Zanon stole his team leading 15th base of the year.

Rookie – Appalachian League

Walter Rasquin went 1 for 3 and knocked in the other run as the Mets had only four hits in the game.

Carlos Sanchez, Wagner Lagrange, and Grabiel Jimenez each had two hits on the night

Rookie League – Dominican Summer League

Gimenez has 28 walks compared to only 19 strikeouts in his first professional season.

It was the first career home run for both of these guys.
