Desmond Lindsay

Round Rock Express (62-63) 10, Las Vegas 51s (58-67) 8 Box Score

All four hits came against a lefty last night for Conforto just one night after going 3 for 4 with a homer against southpaws.

Gsellman had his streak of five straight quality starts snapped but did flash a 97 MPH fastball in his outing, including one to strikeout out the powerful Joey Gallo (who later tagged him for a two-run shot).

Binghamton Mets 9 (57-65), New Hampshire Fisher Cats 1 (Toronto, 59-64) Box Score

This was Johnson’s debut, and he’s older, but he can really hit. Speaking of hitting, Evans is locked in right now. Rosario is 1 for his last 21, which means either the league has adjusted, or his leg injury has lingered. Not sure which would surprise me more. Smith is hitting .393/.469/.554 in August, his second straight great month.

Knapp has been really good this year. He has an arm that is 87-93 with a few different breaking balls. According to reports, Baldonado hit 95 on the gun tonight.

St. Lucie Mets 6 (63-56), Fort Myers Miracle 3 (61-61) Box Score

Kaczmarski is tearing up the Florida State League. Nido has been excellent this year, and I have an article about how he’s still a prospect. Please please please check it out! Cabrera and Cespedes each played six innings in the field and are ready to rejoin the Mets.

This is Delgado’s comfort level of the minors. He didn’t do well in Double-A.

Asheville Tourists 7 (Colorado, 60-60), Columbia Fireflies 6 (55-67) Box Score

Garcia started his 7th career game at first base, which seems to be his likely home in the future.

Church hasn’t struggled with control much this year, walking 22 in 84.2 innings pitched. The bullpen gave up four runs in the bottom of the 9th including a walk-off wild pitch.

Staten Island Yankees 4 (33-23), Brooklyn Cyclones 3 (30-27) Box Score

Lindsay has a 16/15 BB/K in 21 games. Mets college draftees aside from Peter Alonso have been disappointing, but I don’t judge by the first year. Paez stole third.

According to one of our writers at the game, Gonzalez was throwing 93-95 with confidence in his curve, and aggressively goes after hitters.

GCL Marlins 5 (20-24), GCL Mets 2 (19-24) Box Score

Carpio has looked good, but has struck out 8 times in 5 GCL games. Sanchez has been excellent, but is 20 years old.

Bryant pitched his third scoreless inning of his career.

DSL Mets1 3 (39-24), DSL Indians 0 (24-39) Box Score

Gimenez shows off some patience, increasing that BB/K Rate to 44/22.

The left-handed flamethrower was unhittable, but struggled with control.

DSL Phillies 2 4 (38-25), DSL Mets2 1  (18-44) Box Score

The DSL Mets2 team is hitting .236 in general.
