Las Vegas 51s (61-69) 5 vs. Tacoma Rainiers (74-55) 2 BOX SCORE

Michael Conforto his another home run, a solo shot in the eighth. His 2 for 5 day lowered his average from .427 to .426. Since returning to the 51s, Conforto has gone 22 for 40 (.550 avg) with four home runs and eight RBIs. Taijeron hit his 19th home run of the season, he is now tied for the team lead with Johnny Monell.

  • Gabriel Ynoa RHP: 8 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, W (11-5 4.18 ERA)
  • Josh Edgin LHP: 0.2 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, BB, 2 K (2.76 ERA)
  • Paul Sewald RHP: Got the final out with the tying run at the plate for his 15th save (3.52 ERA)

It was Ynoa his first start back since he was send down. It was the first time since June the 18th that he did not allow an earned run for the 51s. Ynoa threw just 96 pitches to get through eight innings.

Before the game it was announced that Brandon Nimmo was named PCL player of the week and that Robert Gsellman was promoted.

Binghamton Mets (59-67) 6 vs. Hartford Yard Goats (70-56) 3 BOX SCORE

  • Amed Rosario SS: 2 for 3, HR, RBI, 3 R, BB, K, SB .319/.371/.469
  • Dominic Smith 1B: 3 for 3, HR, 2B, 2 RBIs, 2 R .301/..365/.465

Rosario and Smith hit back-to-back homeruns in the third inning. It was Rosario his fifth overall and Smith hit number fourteen. Last week Eastern League Player of the week, Phillip Evans, went 0 for 4. Victor Cruzado was the other player in the lineup who drove in a run.

Rafael Montero needed to get out of Vegas badly as he has performed really well since joining the Binghamton Mets. Montero has allowed just one earned run in his last 16 innings.

Columbia Fireflies (59-68) 7 vs. Augusta GreenJackets (69-57) 5 BOX SCORE

The Fireflies got a 7-0 lead in the fourth and it was enough to beat the Augusta GreenJackets for the fourth straight day. J.C. Rodriguez hit his ninth home run of the season, a three-run blast in the second. Enmanuel Zabala had his second career five hit game. He had a five hit game with the DSL Mets2 on July the 29th, 2013.

Almonte did not record any strikeouts in the win. The right-hander has just 35 strikeouts in 69 innings pitched.

Lowell Spinners (37-25) 8 vs. Brooklyn Cyclones (31-31) 1 BOX SCORE

The Brooklyn Cyclones collected just six hits. Colby Woodmansee collected the only RBI.

Merandy Gonzalez was not able to get thru the first after he threw 33 pitches to get two outs. The Defense behind the Cyclones pitchers was awful as they made a franchise record six errors. (Woodmansee 2, Paez 2, Lindsay 1 and Sanchez 1)

Johnson City Cardinals (34-23) 5 vs. Kingsport Mets (19-38) 3 F/7 BOX SCORE

  • Ian Strom LF: 2 for 4, 2B, RBI, K .239/.329/.333
  • Santo Marte 2B: 1 for 3, 2B, RBI, R .222/.349/.361

The Kingsport Mets collected just five hits as there offensive struggles continue.

  • Joel Huertas LHP: 3 IP, H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 3 K (5.93 ERA)

GCL Mets (22-26) 8 vs. GCL Marlins (20-28) 5 F/10 BOX SCORE

The GCL Mets hit three homers and the biggest one was the walk-off three run shot by Juan Uriarte with two outs in the bottom of the tenth. Kenny Hernandez hit his first career home run in the win.

Jose Geraldo was not helped by his defense as they made three errors which let to four unearned runs. Luis Carreno has not allowed a run with the GCL Mets this season, in 12.1 innings pitched he allowed just three hits and struck out 12. This year’s 12th round pick, Matt Cleveland has struggled so far in his pro career.

The DSL Mets1 game was suspended after the top of the sixth. The game was tied at one. Here is the BOX SCORE

The second game for both the Kingsport Mets and DSL Mets2 were postponed. The St. Lucie Mets were off.
