I’ve expressed my thoughts on Champ Stuart. I still believe in him as a player. I know what I saw in person and I know what I heard from his girlfriend.

I wonder what’s going to be the situation now with AAA guys like Cecchini and Nimmo for next year. Cecchini I don’t see on the roster unless mets decide not to resign Walker and let Reyes go. cecchini looks like he can hit but he’s not a SS based off the hundreds of errors he’s had in his minor league career
He’s just gotta hit some more and not strikeout so damn much. he’d be a Leadoff hitter with SB speed the mets need badly
Reyes isn’t going anywhere, they have him for the league minimum next year.
Conforto needs to be in the majors and playing every day.
Everyone knows that Conforto is hitting great because he is in
vegas. Everybody bats .537 in vegas.
Have they had Gavin play any 2B in Vegas? If not, why wouldn’t they let him get some experience there this year?
He hasn’t. I would assume that them keeping him solely at SS is an attempt to keep his trade value as high as possible (SS being more valuable than 2B). That being said, I do think Gavin can stick at SS long term, so until Rosario and him are playing at the same level, there’s really no reason to move him off of SS. I would imagine he’d get some playing time a 2B in spring training, since, assuming Rosario is the SS of the future, Gavin will either be the starting 2B or a utility guy.
And with Stuart’s no K day, he pushes his K% below 40% in Binghamton. Now, if only he could get to around 25%, we could start talking about him as a legit good prospect. He still has lots of potential, but he needs to make more contact.

Basically means he’ll be starting 2nd/3rd baseman opening day. Can’t leave that speed on the bench.
Cecchini has started taking ground balls at 2b and will play some there in AFL
