Syracuse 3 (7-6), Rochester (3-9) 0 Box Score

The Mets got a couple of two-out RBI from Blanco and Espinosa in this one. The lineup is full of Major League veterans (and Tim Tebow) so their offensive struggles have been surprising thus far. Carlos Gomez has had a hit in his last three games. He’s hitting .250 with a 4:4 BB-to-K ratio over his last 10 games.

Due to the doubleheader, O’Rourke was the starter. He faced 11 hitters and then gave way to the rest of the bullpen. Taylor is a sinker ball pitcher and might just see Major League Time at some point. The Mets have been cycling through relievers a lot. On his Birthday, Bashlor rebounded from a bad outing to have a scoreless inning. The hard throwing Caminero picked up his third save.

Rochester (3-8) 3, Syracuse (6-6) 2 Box Score

Dilson clubbed his second homer of season. He has been impressive in the early going this season. Whether he will ever be healthy enough to be a Major League player still remains to be seen. Taijeron is back in the organization doing what he usually does: lots of homers, lot of walks, and lots of strikeouts.

Santiago has been starting even though his strength is in the bullpen where his stuff plays up more. The Mets should seriously consider putting him there when Walker Lockett returns.

New Hampshire (5-7) 4, Binghamton (4-3) 1 Box Score

The offenses around the organization have been struggling. Gimenez hit .277/.344/.348 in his very brief stint in Binghamton last year. His strikeout rate has been higher than it usually is thus far in the early going. Like Gimenez, Toffey has yet to find his swing from 2018. He had a .394 OBP in Binghamton last year. Odds are he will be fine once his contact rate stabilizes.

Kay’s walks have come down from the last two starts. The bad news is that he gave up more runs but his command overall was better. Hopefully he can continue to make strides into his next start. Nogosek’s walks are still a problem. He now has four in four innings this season. Uceta was a rising prospect in 2017 before an injury cost him all of 2018. Hopefully he can get back on track.

Fort Meyers (9-4) 1, St. Lucie (7-6) 0 Box Score

The St. Lucie Mets’ offensive struggles continue to woe them. Last night, they only managed five baserunner the entire game. The team collectively has been struggling aside from Vasquez and Brodie. Vasquez continues to be an OBP machine.

  • RHP Tony Dibrell (1-1, 2.20 ERA): 6.2, 2 H, ER, 2 BB, 2 K
  • RHP Ryley Gilliam (0-0, 0.00 ERA): 1.1 IP, H, K
  • RHP Joeseph Shaw (0-0, 0.00 ERA): 1 IP

Dibrell was really good in this one. He has looked very impressive in his first three starts this season, building off a nice run to end his 2018 campaign. Gilliam has now pitched 8.1 innings this season, struck out 12, walked none, and has given up no runs. I honestly don’t know why he is not in Binghamton.

Rome (5-7) 8, Columbia (5-7) 1 Box Score

It was a pretty quiet night for the Fireflies offense. Mauricio has been hitless in his last two games. The very fact this is surprising speaks volume to how good of a prospect he is. Sharp continues to shine. He’s a pretty good athlete and has shown a good eye at the plate so far.

Butto rebounded from a couple of really bad starts to begin his season. It’s his first season in full season ball so hopefully now he has fully adjusted. Viall still has not hit his stride in the bullpen but his stuff is still so tantalizing to see. Oxford struggled in his very brief appearance. Moreno walked a very very fine line and somehow managed to get two outs without giving up a run.
