Las Vegas (65-68) 4, Sacramento (52-81) 3 Box Score
- Dominic Smith LF: 1-5, 3 K, .254/.329/.384
- Jose Lobaton C: 2-4, K, .361/.443/.631
- Patrick Kivlehan RF: 1-4, 2B, RBI, .305/.357/.547
- Peter Alonso 1B: 1-4, HR, 2 RBI, 2 K, .241/.346/.548
The recently demoted Smith returned to Vegas with just a single along with three strikeouts. He’s been handled very curiously by the Mets this year, and is batting just .234/.279/.375 in fifteen games for Vegas this month. The also recently demoted Jack Reinheimer collected two singles in his return. Lobaton and Kivlehan continued their hot hitting, while Alonso smashed a two-run homer, his 18th as a 51 and 9th of the month. He has 33 on the season.
- RHP Scott Copeland (3-2, 3.02 ERA): 6.2 IP, 8 H, R, BB, 3 K
- LHP Kyle Regnault (3-1, 4.53 ERA): 1.1 IP, H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K
- RHP Eric Hanhold (W, 2-2, 6.75 ERA): 1.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R, BB, 2 K
- RHP Jacob Rhame (1-2, 3.06 ERA): 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K
The veteran Copeland has done a really solid job since signing with the Mets organization, turning in consistent quality starts for both Binghamton and Las Vegas. Regnault continued his late-season turnaround, as he now has a 0.69 ERA, .156 opponents batting average, and 20/3 K/BB ratio in the month of August. Hanhold’s been slowly figuring things out after coming off the DL, but he blew the save last night allowing two runs in the ninth. Rhame was able to finish it off though, picking up his 11th save of the year. His last six appearances have been scoreless.
Binghamton 12 (62-71), Hartford 2 Box Score

- RF Jhoan Urena 3 for 5, 3 HR, 9 RBI, K .252/.317/.410
- CF Ian Strom 0 for 4, BB
So, uh, Urena hit two grand slams. Urena said a franchise record with 9 RBI. Toffey has gotten cold since starting out hot for Binghamton. Strom was promoted to Binghamton today.
- RHP Mickey Jannis 6 ip, 3 h, 4 BB, 5 K 3.61 ERA
- RHP Matt Blackham 2 ip, 3 h, 2 er, 4 K 3.82 ERA
Jannis has a 2.62 ERA in his last 65.1 innings. He’s on a roll.
St. Lucie’s Doubleheader was washed away.
Charleston 4, Columbia 0 (60-66) Box Score
- LF Matt Winaker 1 for 4, 3 K .253/.364/.428
- DH Zach Rheams 3 for 3, 2B .230/.324/.413
Sorry Columbia Offense, but you’re going to see some massive upgrades early next year.
- RHP Nicolas Debora 6 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 5 K 3.22 ERA
- RHP Ryan Selmer 2 IP, K
Debora has been solid filling in for any place the organization has put him. Selmer has not had much success, but cool tidbit: on his MILB.com page, his name is “Ryan and Selmer”.
Vermont 9, Brooklyn 3 (36-32) Box Score
- LF Ross Adolph 3 for 5, HR, 2 RBI, K .286/.353/.524
- 2B Carlos Cortes 1 for 5 .280/.348/.409

Adolph continues to wreak some havoc for Brooklyn, with his 7th homer of the year. Meyer committed his 7th error of the year.
- RHP Jose Butto 4.1 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 4 K 5.47 ERA
- RHP Tommy Wilson 2.2 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, BB, 3 K 1.50 ERA
Butto, who had a sparkling 1.93 ERA in Kingsport, has run into a wall with Brooklyn. Wilson let up his 3rd earned run this season.
Kingsport 8 (33-33), Johnson City 6 Box Score
- 2B Yoel Romero 3 for 6, 2B, RBI .251/.358/.338
- 3B Mark Vientos 3 for 4, R, BB, K .292/.393/.498
- SS Ronny Mauricio 0 for 4, BB, 3 K .200/.267/.280
- CF Ranfy Adon 3 for 5, 3B, 3 RBI, R, K .283/.329/.507
Kingsport has clinched a playoff spot. Adon did some nice things in Kelenic’s stead. Vientos continues to rake, and will likely be an interesting addition to Columbia in 2019.
- RHP Dedniel Nunez 5.2 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 5 BB, 2 K 3.79 ERA
Brian Metoyer and Nunez combined to give up all the runs, but Christian Tripp and Mitch Hickey shut it down to get Kingsport to the playoffs.
