Las Vegas 51s (22-33) 11, Reno Aces (34-21) 4  Box Score

The Las Vegas offense scored eleven runs on eighteen hits, with six of the runs coming in the ninth inning. Plawecki and Josh Rodriguez both hit home runs. Dominic Smith went 0 for 5 with three strikeouts.

After Boscan pitched five solid innings, the 51s bullpen only gave up one run for the next four innings. The run came on a home run against Baldonado who continues to struggle a bit after dominating in Binghamton.

Binghamton Rumble Ponies (30-19) 7, Portland Sea Dogs (23-27)  Box Score

The Rumble Ponies offense was able to push across seven runs in the game, six of which came against former Mets draft pick Teddy Stankiewicz (the Mets drafted him in the 2nd round in 2012, but he did not sign). Every player in the Binghamton lineup had a hit except for the leadoff hitter, Patrick Biondi, who still was able to reach base on two walks.

After a short stint on the disabled list, Jannis made his first start since May 17 and pitched very well. He allowed only five baserunners over six innings, four hits and a hit batter. The only runs Jannis allowed came on a first inning two-run home run by top Red Sox prospect, Rafael Devers.

St. Lucie Mets (27-27) vs. Daytona Tortugas (28-25)

St. Lucie’s game against Daytona was rained out. The game will be made up on June 19 as part of a doubleheader.

Columbia Fireflies (28-24) 8, Hagerstown Suns (32-22) 7  Box Score

The Fireflies scored eight runs in a wild ten inning game. Going into the ninth inning tied, Columbia rallied in the 9th inning, with a Luis Carpio sacrifice fly putting the Fireflies in front and a Paez two-run double adding insurance runs to make the game 7-4. The Columbia bullpen gave back the lead in the bottom half of the inning, but Brosher led off the tenth with a home run that would put the Fireflies ahead for good. Lindsay had three hits in the game, including his third home run in his last six games (fifth total in 2017).

  • LHP Blake Taylor (0-6, 4.47 ERA) 5.0 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 6 K
  • LHP Adonis Uceta (2-0, 2.31 ERA) 3.0 IP, 4 K
  • RHP Max Kuhns (W, 1-0, 2.38 ERA) 1.0 IP, H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K
  • RHP Joseph Zanghi (SV, 0-2, 3.00 ERA) 1.0 IP, H, 2 K

Taylor got the start for Columbia and had a mixed outing, giving up eleven baserunners in only five innings, but also striking out six. Uceta pitched three perfect innings in relief. Kuhns, who had been excellent so far in 2017, came into the game to save a three run lead, but could not get the job done. In a 40 pitch inning, Kuhns gave up 3 runs, while also accomplishing the rare feat of striking out four batters in an inning.
