DSL Phillies White (2-1) 3, DSL Mets2 1 Box Score
- Jhoander Saez CF-SS: 2 for 4, RBI, BB
- Yoel Romero 2B: 2 for 5, K
- Shervyen Newton 3B: 1 for 3, BB, K
The DSL Mets2 were able to record 10 hits and drew 6 walks despite only one run to show for it. The top of the order did a lot of damage, getting 5 of the 10 hits while also drawing two walks. Newton is off to the best start among the DSL regulars in his second go-around in the league.
- LHP Ivan Santana (0-0, 3.00 ERA): 3 IP, 4 H, 2 R, ER, 4 K
- RHP Miguel Mata (0-0, 1.80 ERA): 5 IP, 5 H, ER, 3 K
Santana had a field day against his opponents in 2016. Despite that, he’s repeating the DSL again presumably to be stretched out as a starter more. Mata did great for the bullpen and was able to save them from a lot of work in this one. It is his second straight year in the DSL.
DSL Twins (2-1) 6, DSL Mets1 (1-2) 2 Box Score

- LHP Michael Martinez (0-0, 4.50 ERA): 2 IP, 2 H, ER, BB, 2 K
Dominguez is a 17 year old in his first go around in the DSL. Leon on the other hand is in his third go-around in the league. Juan Martinez had the best day of the bunch and it’s his second stint in the DSL. Last year he had a 1.88 WHIP in the league, certainly an improvement.
The Rumble Ponies and St. Lucie Mets were both rained out yesterday.
Cabby did you see that play? He made Montero look great!
Marte’s homer was a game tying homer. Puello won the game with a walk-off single. My bad
Nice to see Lindsay who is getting out of the that slump and it hasn’t affected his defense. I think he’ll be fine and the future is bright as long as he continues to stay healthy. He’s got a good eye at the plate already.
I wonder if Montero doing well in AAA can build up his value to anything more than a bag of balls. I think he could be useful on another team as insurance or AAAA pitcher which he seems to be.
Also cool that we google pays that much an hour.
