Reno Aces (43-26) 8, Las Vegas 51 (27-42) 0 Box Score

Not much offense for the 51s, they only reached base 6 times against the Aces, who lived up to their name. Former Met  Aaron Laffey led the staff to quiet the 51s bats.

This was a game where the 51s had no real starter and had to make do with whoever was available in the bullpen. Regnault has thrown ten scoreless innings since being called up to AAA.

Reading Fightin Phils (38-26) 7, Binghamton Rumble Ponies (35-27) 4 Box Score

The Rumble Ponies offense got out to a quick 1-0 lead but the pitching could not hold the lead. Thompson has his OPS up to .662 this year. Nido has now had three straight games where he has struck out twice. He has struck out 7 times his last four games after striking out 15 times before that all season.

  • RHP Marcos Molina (0-1, 6.00 ERA): 6 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 8 K
  • RHP Ben Griset (1-0, 3.00 ERA): 1 IP, H, K
  • LHP Kelly Secrest (0-1, 5.63 ERA): 1 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, BB, 2 K
  • RHP Cody Burns (0-1, 4.97 ERA): 1 IP, K

This was Molina’s first AA start and it went relatively well. Molina fanned eight over six solid innings. He should is on the 40-man roster and could move quickly the more he continues to pitch at AA.

Charleston Riverdogs (33-36) 3, Columbia Fireflies (40-27) 0 Box Score

The Fireflies only mustered four hits in the game. Tomorrow is the final day of the first half for the Southern Atlantic League.

Szapucki was a tough luck loser despite having the best start of the year. He hasn’t fully regained his dominance from last year but he gets closer to that start-by-start. Blake Taylor had a relief stint because his last start was roughly a week ago and the All-Star break is up ahead.

DSL Mets1 (7-6) 10 , DSL Rockies (8-7) 1 Box Score

  • Yordin Araujo RF: 2 for 4, 2 Runs, 2B, HR, 2 RBI
  • Wilmer Reyes 3B: 3 for 5, 2 Runs, 2 2B, RBI
  • Jose Peroza 3B: 2 for 5, Run, 2B, HR, 2 RBI, 3 K

It was a field day for the offense and they scored ten. That was more than enough for the pitching staff.

  • RHP Nelson Leon (2-0, 2.08 ERA): 5 IP, 3 H, BB, 4 K
  • LHP Christofer Dominguez (0-1, 4.05 ERA): 3 IP, 3 H, BB, 3 K
  • RHP Felix Sosa (0-0, 9.00 ERA): 0.2 IP, ER, BB, K
  • LHP Michael Martinez (0-0, 4.15 ERA): 0.1 IP, BB, K

Leon has been solid in the young season. He is old for the league however. Sosa struggled in the ninth before Martinez came in and finished it.

DSL Mets2 (9-4) 4, DSL Rangers (7-6) 2 Box Score

A two-run fifth and seventh propelled the DSL Mets to victory. They are now 9-4 after a sluggish start to the year.

  • LHP Ivan Santana (0-1, 1.04 ERA): 4.2 IP, H, ER, 4 BB, 3 K
  • RHP Marcos Correa (2-1, 2.25 ERA): 2.1 IP, H, ER, 2 BB
  • LHP Jefferson Escorcha (1-0, 0.00 ERA): 1 IP, H, 2 K
  • RHP Williams Valencia (1-0, 2.70 ERA): 0 IP, 2 BB
  • RHP Miguel Pinedo (0-0, 0.00 ERA): 1 IP, K

Santana has been dominant this year after a dominant 2016. Despite walking 8 batters, the  pitching staff only allowed two runs. After Valencia walked two to begin the ninth, Pinedo came in and put some water on the flames.
