Binghamton’s game was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on August 18.

St. Lucie Mets (28-27) 5, Florida Fire Frogs (22-34) 4  Box Score

St. Lucie was able to score five runs on nine hits in the seven inning game. Mazeika, Alonso, John MoraWuilmer Becerra, and Vinny Siena all had RBI hits. Alonso had a good game, getting on base twice, but is only 4 for 28 since returning from the DL.

St. Lucie Mets (29-27) 4, Florida Fire Frogs (22-35) 2  Box Score

In the second game of the doubleheader, St. Lucie’s offense had 12 hits, with every player in the lineup having at least one hit. Mora had an excellent game, getting on base three times and clearing the loaded bases with a triple in the second inning.

Molina was dominant again in this game, giving up only one unearned run over six innings. He has given up no more than two runs in any of his four starts with St. Lucie this season.

Columbia Fireflies (29-25) 5, Hagerstown Suns (33-23) 3  Box Score

Paez continues to have an excellent season with four hits in this game, including his sixth home run of the season. Luis Carpio also drove in two runs with a double in the fourth inning.

Szapucki made his first start of the season after being sidelined with a shoulder impingement since Spring Training. He had a bit of a shaky outing, allowing nine hitters to reach base and throwing 83 pitches in 4.1 innings, but it’s good to see him pitching with Columbia after missing about two months.
