When Nabil Crismatt held his own in an elimination game against the Dominican Republic team during the World Baseball Classic, you knew there were big things ahead of him.  While Crismatt had a shaky start to the season, we have seen him start to turn things around, and he is coming off his best start of the season.

During Crismatt’s May 19th win, he pitched seven scoreless innings allowing no walks and just three hits.  As if that wasn’t impressive enough Crismatt recorded a career high 11 strikeouts.  After this start, it should come as little surprise that Crismatt was named the Florida State League’s Pitcher of the Week.  In winning the award, Crismatt was the first player for St. Lucie to win any of the Player of the Week Awards this season.

This is now Crismatt’s second Pitcher of the Week Award in his career.  The first one came last when for the first week of August when he was pitching for the Columbia Fireflies.  If Crismatt continues to go out there and pitch as well as he is capable of pitching, this certainly will not be his last Pitcher of the Week Award.
