The action in winter ball for players from the Mets system continues to be minimal even with Juan Lagares making his debut this week.

One name to keep an eye on his right-handed pitcher Nabil Crismatt who we recently named one of our under the radar prospects for 2017. Crismatt, 21, threw five scoreless innings last night in the Puerto Rican Winter League for the Gigantes de Carolina. He allowed just two hits, two walks and struck out two.

Over 22.1 innings in winter ball action, Crismatt has a 3.22 ERA and 1.25 WHIP. He’s given up eight earned runs on 22 hits, six walks and struck out 16.

Crismatt is eligible to be taken in the Rule 5 draft, but seems like a long shot given his minimal experience above A-Ball, one start for Binghamton. He does have a major league caliber changeup and good control, but sits in the 88-92 MPH range and lacks a strong third pitch currently.

Juan Lagares went 1 for 4 last night in the Dominican Winter League for the Aguilas Cibaenas. He’s gone 4 for 16 with three RBI in four games, all in center field.

The last Mets player in winter ball action last night was catcher Xorge Carrillo, who went 0 for 2 in the Aguilas de Mexicali’s loss. In 109 at-bats, Carrillo is hitting .257/.354/.339 with one home run and 14 runs batted in.
