Wow! We have a stacked GCL team… Hansel Robles is making the start as we speak for the GCL Mets as part of his rehab stint. There are so many names to watch here. All three of our starting outfielders (Lupo, Becerra, and Wilson) are players to watch. Lupo could turn into a future power-hitting stud, Becerra was the last man in the R.A. Dickey trade, and Ivan Wilson was our third-rounder from this year’s draft.
Gaither Bumgardner, Andrew Church, and Casey Meisner are part of the pitching corps and definitely a group to watch as well.
And of course, first round pick Dominic Smith will take his cuts after opening day — the Mets have a habit of not starting rookies on GCL Opening Day.
A Becerra sighting cool. 🙂
I’m assuming that Ramon Estevez isn’t Martin Sheen– the birthdate is wrong…
What an exciting team!! Gonna be fun following these kids! Hope Lupo was just nervous cause that’s a bad day! I have been waiting a long time to see him play and thought he would be playing in Kingston at worst. Hope he does better tomorrow cause now I’m a little nervous. Either way, that’s one hell of an outfield! Smith and Kaupe should have big years! Church sounds like he has some upside and meisner and his height have me intrigued! Gonna be an awesome team!!
Really sad I won’t be able to go see this team. So many names to watch.
