Lakeland 5, St. Lucie 0

The St. Lucie Mets struggled tonight against the balanced attack of the Lakeland Flying Tigers and ended up dropping this game, 5-0. The Mets were shut down by Hudson Randall, who tossed eight scoreless, and Brennan Smith.

Carlos Vazquez and Estarlin Morel combined for 3.1 scoreless on the back end of the ball game, but it was Alex Panteliodis who ran into trouble over the course of his near-six innings of work. He didn’t make too many mistakes, but was hit hard for a three-run homer from Mike Hernandez in the second inning. A two-out, two-run single was the damage dealer in the sixth inning.

The Mets scattered five hits across the game with the only hard-hit ball being a double from Gilbert Gomez. Rainy Lara is scheduled to start tomorrow according to the St. Lucie website.
