Memphis 5, Las Vegas 3
Francisco Pena hit another three-run home run Tuesday for the Las Vegas 51s, but it wasn’t enough in a 5-3 loss against host Memphis.
Zach Lutz had two hits for Las Vegas in the loss, becoming the 51s’ most accomplished hitter after slugger Wilmer Flores was promoted to the New York Mets earlier Tuesday. The 51s are off Wednesday. At 7:05 p.m. Thursday, Las Vegas hosts Oklahoma City at Cashman Field to open a series.

(Team Report)
Pena has had a fantastic year. When you consider he wasnt supposed to sniff aaa till at least all star break. He went ther and has done a fantastic job working Working with the pitchers. He’s played good defense and shown some power. He usually homers in bunches.
He’s displayed this year that he can be a solid back up catcher. Catcher in the past 2 seasons has gone from a position of need to a strength. Just like pitching. Hopefully some of our position players turn it on.
Right now I know it won’t make anyone feel any better but we have some very nice prospects with the GCL Mets. I say it won’t make anyone feel better cause there at least 3 years away. Also I’m a little disappointed in Vincent Lupo. I thought he would absolutley crush there and get bumped to A ball this year.
No such luck as Lupo has failed to get started. He has a crazy amount of power though ang I have a lot of confidence in him. Between Lupo, Bucerra, Wilson & Smith they are all high upsides. They are going to be very intresting to monitor.
