Peter Alonso Homers Twice Including Walk-Off Blast

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies were down 5-4 with two outs in the bottom of the ninth on Tuesday night with second baseman Jeff McNeil coming to the plate.

McNeil, entered the night fifth in the minor leagues with his 198 wRC+, homered to tie the game at 5-5. He had two hits on the night and has a 1.084 OPS for the season.

Next up was Mets rising propsect Peter Alonso, and he hit a walk-off line drive homer to give the Rumble Ponies a 6-5 win.

It was the third hit of the night for Alonso and second homer. He went 3-for-5 with three RBI. The right-handed hitter now has 11 home runs on the season to go along with .367 average and 1.173 OPS. He entered the game with a 216 wRC+, which led all of baseball.

Jhoan Urena had three hits on the night and Tim Tebow drove in his 18th run of the season with a single.

Eric Hanhold got the win with 1.2 scoreless innings of relief.
