The Mets will be represented by two players — Noah Syndergaard and Kevin Plawecki — at this year’s All-Star Futures Game. MLB Network announced the rosters for both the World and U.S. teams this afternoon. Both players will play for the U.S. team, which plays against a team of foreign-born prospects (the World Team) every year during All-Star Weekend.

For Syndergaard, it will be his second time playing in the game. He and fellow Mets pitching prospect Rafael Montero each started the game last year when it was held at Citi Field. At 21, Syndergaard has a 4.98 ERA in 65 innings with Triple-A Las Vegas this season, for which he has struck out 9.3 and walked 2.8 batters per nine innings. He is one of only nine Triple-A players to be selected to play in the game and is the only U.S. pitcher from the Triple-A ranks.

Plawecki, 23, will be playing in his first Futures Game. In 58 games with Double-A Binghamton, he is hitting .326/.378/.487 with six homers and 18 doubles. With Travis d’Arnaud‘s promotion to the Mets this week, Plawecki will likely take his place in Triple-A very soon, possibly within the next week.

The game will be played at Minnesota’s Target Field on Sunday, July 13 at 5 p.m. Eastern time.
