St. Lucie 8, Palm Beach 6

If Kevin Plawecki has an off button, opposing pitchers have yet to find it this year. On the heels of his promotion to St. Lucie, Plawecki ripped a three-run shot in his first FSL AB with two outs to put the Mets up early.

Domingo Tapia needed that, as on a day he did not have his best stuff, he struggled and allowed a five-spot in the third inning and six earned runs total. He allowed eleven hits over his five-and-a-third innings of work, but none of them left the yard. He struck out six. Bret Mitchell, Randy Fontanez, and Hamilton Bennett combined to pitch the rest of the game scoreless.

T.J. Rivera and the newly promoted Jayce Boyd added RBIs along the way as well — and Dustin Lawley added a pair of his own to continue his recent streak of good play. A crucial throwing error in the seventh by Colin Walsh opened the door for the Mets to tack on two runs, enough for them to hold off the Cardinals on this day.

Angel Cuan looks to the take the mound for the St. Lucie Mets tomorrow against Zach Petrick.
