As per Adam Rubin, who had a chat with Paul dePodesta…

On why Cesar Puello, who has been tied to Biogenesis by “Outside the Lines,” has not started the past three games with Binghamton, DePodesta wrote: “Manager’s decision. Just giving him a break. He’s active and available.”

Just in case you were wondering. I suspected earlier in the week the B-Mets were trying for some retro-active suspension type of move here so Puello could eventually join them in the play-offs. I don’t know if you can do that, however, or if the 50-game suspension will run out in time even with an early jump on it.

I’m glad this whole Biogenesis thing is coming to a close. I hope they dish out their suspensions and that’s it. On the positive side of things, there’s no guarantee that Puello took any steroids, as the whole situation is cloudy… No, I’m not touting his innocence, but I like to give our guys the benefit of the doubt. In addition to that, any of the suspected guys have been under rigorous drug testing ever since news about the clinic came out, so I do believe in the numbers that coming out of this break-out season.

This whole Biogenesis saga couldn’t end quick enough, however.

By the way, in the same post, dePodesta mentioned that Matthew Koch is alert and resting comfortably after being struck by a line drive. Here’s to a quick recovery, Matt!
