The New York Mets have announced they have recalled SS Jack Reinheimer and RHP Tim Peterson, and they have sent INF Luis Guillorme and RHP Jacob Rhame down to Triple-A Las Vegas to make room for the aforementioned two players on the Major League roster.

Reinheimer, 26, was selected off waivers by the Mets from the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 31.  In nine games for Las Vegas, he is hitting .231/.333/.423 with two doubles, a homer, two RBI, and two stolen bases.

Last year, Reinheimer played in two games with the Diamondbacks going 0-for-5 with three strikeouts.

For Peterson, this will mark his third time with the Major League club this season.  While he was strong in his first eight appearances posting a 1.59 ERA, Peterson would struggle in his last 10 appearances pitching to a 12.54 ERA and a 2.036 WHIP.  Overall, he is 2-2 with a 6.53 ERA, 1.306 WHIP, and an 8.7 K/9 in 18 Major League appearances.

Since his most recent demotion, Peterson has pitched quite well allowing just one run on three hits in four innings while striking out nine and opposing batters hitting just .200 off of him.

For Guillorme, he once again did not get much of an opportunity to prove himself with him playing behind Todd Frazier, Jeff McNeil, and Jose Reyes.  Since being recalled on July 28, he accumulated just 10 plate appearances and started just one game. In those limited chances, Guillorme performed quite well going 4-for-9 with a walk and an RBI.

With respect to Rhame, this is the seventh time he has been optioned to Las Vegas since he made the Opening Day roster.  In his 20 Major League appearances, he is 0-2 with a 7.97 ERA, 1.623 WHIP, and a 6.6 K/9.  In his 20 appearances for Las Vegas, he is 1-2 with a 3.76 ERA, 1.025 WHIP, and an 11.3 K/9.

With rosters due to expand in less than three weeks, we could see all four of these players on the Major League roster at the same time.  In the event that does happen, it will be interesting to see how each player will be utilized.
