The Mets managerial carousel has finally come to an end with veteran coach Rich Donnelly reportedly filling the St. Lucie Mets opening, per Tim Healey of Newsday.

Donnelly is replacing Chad Kreuter in St. Lucie, who has been named the Triple-A Syracuse Mets manager after Brian Schneider was elevated to the Mets quality control job that was opened up by Luis Rojas taking over for Carlos Beltran as manager of the big league club. Confused yet?

Here’s the Mets’ minor league managers for 2020:

Triple-A Syracuse – Chad Kreuter
Double-A Binghamton – Lorenzo Bundy
Single-A St. Lucie Mets – Rich Donnelly
Low-A Columbia Fireflies – Reid Brignac
Short Season Brooklyn Cyclones – Ed Blankmeyer
Rookie Kingsport Mets – Chris Newell
Rookie GCL Mets – David Davalillo

Donnelly, 73, was set to be the bench coach for Schneider in Syracuse. He’s entering his sixth season in the Mets organization. The former minor league catcher managed the rookie level Kingsport Mets in 2019.

The Ohio native has 29 seasons of major league coaching experience, with the most recent being third base coach for the Seattle Mariners in 2014.

Donnelly holds a 868-787 record in 14 minor league seasons as a manager.
