According to the Columbia Fireflies game notes, right-handed pitcher Cannon Chadwick has retired.

Chadwick, 23, was the New York Mets ninth round pick in the 2017 draft from the University of Arkansas.

Cannon struggled in his five innings of work this year for the Columbia Fireflies allowing seven runs on seven hits, six walks and struck out seven.

He fared much better in his first taste of pro ball in 2017 for the Brooklyn Cyclones however with a 1.33 ERA in 27 innings. Chadwick did walk 14 in that span, but also struck out a whopping 40 batters.

MMN wishes Cannon good luck in future endeavors.
