Bradenton 8, St. Lucie 1

When you hand a team seven free passes when they’ve already pegged you for nine hits in a ballgame, you make it really difficult for your offense to back you up.

Hansel Robles took the mound for the St. Lucie Mets on Sunday and struggled to find his command, which is uncommon for him. He allowed four hits and three walks, which resulted in four earned runs. He gave up a solo home run to Jose Osuna in the third inning, which left the score at 4-0.  Robles was removed after four innings.

Carlos Vazquez may have provided three innings of scoreless relief behind Robles, but Wanel Vasquez ran into a brick wall when he gave up a grand slam in the bottom of the eighth after only recording two outs and walking the bases loaded. Hamilton Bennett recorded the last out in the inning.

Matthew Bowman should be taking the mound tomorrow for St. Lucie.
