Baseball America has published its annual Best Tools list for the majors, AAA, and AA so far. So far, Amed Rosario is the only Mets minor leaguer to make the list.
Rosario was named as the best defensive shortstop in the Eastern League. When Rosario was signed as a 17-year old prospect out of the Dominican Republic, he was seen as a future Gold Glover at the position. Rosario has shown this year, he takes great pride in his defense, and that he requires perfection from himself:
We won but im having a hard time letting go of my E6. It didnt cost us the game but I've made errors this year that I would make in my sleep

So far, Rosario has played 26 games this season in AA, and he has a .936 fielding percentage.
Rosario joins some major leaguers who also made Baseball America’s Best Tools list. Noah Syndergaard had the top ranked fastball in the National League with Jeurys Familia‘s ranking third. Familia was also rated as the best reliever in the National League. Finally, Yoenis Cespedes‘ arm was ranked the second best outfield arm in the National League.
When do you think we see Rosario? 2018?
He gets added to the 40 man roster this November, so it is possible we see him next year at some point. A lot of variables to that, including Cabrera, Cecchini, overall health of team, and record.
All of which he can’t control; let him push his way there #DontBeSurprisedBeReady
