Sand Gnats Fall To River Dogs 6-4

Game three of the four game series between the Savannah Sand Gnats and the Charleston RiverDogs was played Saturday at Grayson Stadium in front of 2,787 fans.

Savannah took a 2-1 lead going into the 8th inning, and Charleston scored 4 runs in the 8th inning, adding another run in the 9th inning to win 6-4.

Savannah starting pitcher, Casey Meisner, pitched 6 strong innings, but the bullpen gave up 5 runs.

In the first inning, Charleston scored their first run when Jorge Mateo,DH singled, moved to second on a single by Dustin Fowler,cf and scored when catcher, Eduardo de Oleo singled.
Savannah scored a run in the first inning. John Mora,cf led off with a walk and scored on a double by JC Guillorme,2b.

In the 5th inning, the Sand Gnats scored their second run. Mora led off the inning with a single and went to second on a sacrifice bunt. A single by Stefan Sabol,1b scored Mora.

Charleston rallied for 4 runs in the 8th inning. Mateo walked, stole second and third base and scored on a single by Fowler. De Oleo doubled to score Fowler. A walk and a double by Allen Valerio,3b scored two runs. The RiverDogs scored their final   run in the 9th inning.
The Sand Gnats scored 2 runs in the 8th inning. Thomas Nido,dh singled and Vincente Lupo,LF singled. A single by Patrick Biondi,rf scores Nido. Lupo scored on a wild pitch.

The final game of the four game series starts at2:05pm Sunday at Grayson Stadium.
